Not Lady-Like is a zine about my experiences (& adventures?) at Ladyfest Berlin (= a DIY non-profit feminist festival with art, music, film, workshops, games, cakes, action, etc) showing clear signs of horror vacui. It's a combination of a travel journal, a long festival review, rants about the word lady, gender and "the Hooker incident" (including Manuela's view on it), info about Berlin, with little portraits of some of the people I met, photos (including one by Suzanne), recipes, drawings, tabs, DIY ideas, a few self-defence tips, a quiz, collages, etc.

Same Heartbeats #2 and Radix #2 are out!

It may be obvious but Echo is moving further and further away from being "Echo Records". The zines/comix/self-published booklets have always been more dominant but also craft creations have become part of Echo whenever I'm doing an infostand somewhere. I'm even thinking of exploring the world of short animation films and audio/video documentaries and put whatever I make on discs (though that won't be for very soon). The next tape I put out should be the Lost Luna demo so I haven't forgotten about the music. But still, Echo is more a "DIY production/creation project" than a real music label. But isn't that even better?

For my illustration work, I've started a new website: www.ninanijsten.110mb.com. There, you can also read about other artistic projects I'm involved in and about my zines.

Also the local Riot Grrrl Collectief has a new website: www.rgcollectief.110mb.com!

I finished my first comic zine "Radix #1" a little while ago! I also have made some DIY things for a new section called "art & craft" that you can order. Some of these crafts are kind of "unique" and/or can be made/altered on request.
I'm still working on Lost Luna's demo "Demolish" and I'm write a new probably one-off zine for now called "Autumn (Revolution)" about DIY culture/communities and femqueer festivals.
When my thesis for school (Women's Studies) about anarcha-feminism, organisation and hierarchy is finished I'll make a zine/pamphlet version of it. But it might take some time because I'd like to translate it to English (and maybe put out a Dutch version too or make the text available online).

Flapper Gathering #6 and my first comic zine (working title "Lost Luna") are not finished yet, but it shouldn't take very long anymore. The split tape project is finally gonna be put into practice. Both bands for the first split tape are already confirmed: Girl Germs (grrl-core from Finland) and Juju Queens (post-punk from Norway).

The Riot Grrrl Collectief is working on the second Riot Not Diet zine. Contributions are still welcome. I'm also helping/drawing for a zine made by a friend and helping/writing for a zine that will be published by the squatters of Hasselt.

And there's more: The Riot Grrrl Collectief has got some brand-new stickers for sale! See "other items" on this page. In that same section you can soon find Echo and Riot Grrrl buttons (thanks to Wilco of DP Or Not DP!). I'm quite excited about all these new things!

The travel zine Not Lady-Like is finally finished!
The band I used to play in, Foxfire aka Coma To Action, has split up. I now play in a band with ex-members of Zerstorung. There are no immediate recording plans. Lost Luna demo/split tape plans are moved to the unknown future again.

Flapper Gathering #6 should be out in February. You can still mail articles etc.

The comic zine I'm working on is half finished. I wanna write some DIY books/zines/pamphlets too, 1 about anarcha-feminism and 1 about gender, but they're still in an early stage.

I've been crocheting several little bags recently. Maybe I'll make some to sell/trade here too.

no compilation plans for the moment

I may put out a split demo tape next year. on one side will be either my (still nameless) riot/crust/foxcore band or my experimental solo project Lost Luna. i'm looking for 1 feminist band for the other side, but there are already a few on my wishlist.

for the Flapper Gathering zines, contributions are always welcome: please mail your writings, drawings or b/w photography if you're interested.
#6 will be the Riot Grrrl Benelux issue and the deadline for now is October 30th 2005.

Other future releases may include a comic zine, a pamphlet/book/zine about feminism and gender, a travel zine,... all made by me... OK, seems like a lot of work, but i like doing it.
