![]() RICE LAKE![]() SNO-BIRDS Snowmobile Club Welcome to our home page. Imagine yourself slowly riding down a winding trail beside a half-frozen stream with the crisp winter air just getting to your nose because the rest of you is so bundled up nothing else could penetrate. The sound of your snowmobile fills your ears and the red tail light in front of you flashes to warn you another curve is coming up.The vibration sends your mind into countless thoughts and it's easy to have a tune running through your head as you break out into an open field and pick up the pace. These are the thoughts and feelings I have as our Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club takes any trail ride on any given day. We're a close knit group and we love to ride. We're proud of our club. We are the largest in Barron County with over 80 families as members, and we're always inviting more to join. The Sno-Birds have marked over 42 miles of trails and we're always looking to open new trails. Twelve of our members are certified as snowmobile Safety Instructors and hold safety courses for ages 12 and up every year. We are also proud to say we have participated in the Badger State Winter Games Torch Run since 1989. We were the 1989 2nd place winners and the 1990 and 1991 1st place winners of the gold. The club is a very busy and active one and we welcome you, one and all, to come and join in our fun. Club meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday, October through March, at the Blue Hills Masonic Lodge. Come and join in our fun----you'll see what I mean! Written by Jacqui Schneider |
