Midst mist and foam and smoke,
There dwells the mystic kingdom of
The feline fairy folk.
Where gentle rain and warmsome breeze
Caress the forest fair
As unicorns lap crystal pools
Beside a dragon's lair.
And slumbering sea serpents float
In undulating motion
Near a royal sky-ship armada,
The pride of all the ocean.
And 'neath the glow of silver moon
A stately city lies
Amongst whose marble monuments
A furry fairy flies;
Yet as he wings o'er star-lit earth
Where his moon-shadow's cast,
His mind recalls the gallant deeds
Of heroes of the past;
Of regal Princess Aramix
Who would ascend the throne
Within her father's palace grand
Of crystal sapphire stone.
For when the evil sorcerers
Of distant Mount D'Feu
Stole her own kingdom's scepter wand
And none knew what to do,
It was the princess wise and true
Who with her magi's aid
Returned the precious talisman
And catastrophe staid.
Or mighty Telemacus of
The king's own Ranger Guard,
A matchless warrior of great skill
And well-versed minstral bard,
Who journeyed far upon a quest
In service to the throne
And overcame great hardships ere
He saw the hills of home.
Or good Sir Farris Thunderstroke,
The noble fairy-knight,
Who faced the wicked dragon king
In terrifying fight.
And by his skill with sword and lance
And courage in the fray,
The gallant knight vanquished his foe
And bravely won the day.
And many other wonderous deeds
Of feline fairy tales
Accompany our guardian's thoughts
As through the night he sails.
And all these grand adventures wait,
My Reader, here within!
