| First, you need to print off the Mama Bird Diaper Pattern. It is in .pdf format, meaning you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to view and print it. Some people have had problems with the diapers they make turning out quite small. As far as I can tell, this happens when your default printer setting is set to "fit to page" or "fit to paper". I have added squares to each pattern that should measure 1 inch. If these print out smaller than that, try changing your printer settings. The newborn pattern (half pattern, as printed out) should measure approximately 3 7/8" across the front, 3" across the crotch, 7½" across the back, and be 13½" long. This diaper fits approximately from seven to twelve pounds. It fit my eight pound newborn well until he was somewhere between eleven and a half and twelve pounds. The little size pattern should measure approximately 4½" across the front, 3 3/8" across the crotch, 7¼" across the wings, and be 15¾" long. This diaper fits approximately from nine to twenty-two pounds. The big size pattern should measure approximately 5" across the front, 3¾" across the crotch, 9 3/8" across the wings, and be 17 3/8" long. This diaper fits approximately from seventeen to thirty plus pounds. It still fits my thirty-seven pound toddler and has begun to fit my sixteen pound infant. Second, follow the instructions for the type of diaper you wish to make. I have instructions for making a Fitted Diaper and an All-In-One (AIO) Diaper. The instructions for making a Pocket Diaper and up and running now! Also, many of the instructions refer to notes about elastic length, PUL, or soaker materials. You can find all these and other information here. I am sharing this pattern for the sole purpose of home use only. If you are interested in selling Mama Bird Diapers, please e-mail me and we can discuss it. I have very affordable licensing options available. Using ANY pattern to make items for profit without the pattern maker's permission is not only against the law, but ethically wrong as well. You would be depriving the maker of well deserved income. Please be aware that I am a homeschooling mother of five and a full time college student. I can't always reply to e-mails in a timely manner. I make less than sixty dollars a year on this pattern and cannot devote huge amounts of time to it. If doing business with such a person would upset you, please look elsewhere for a pattern to sew for sell. Thank you, Robin E. |
