JUNE IS ADOPT A SHELTER CAT MONTH

"Say 'Hello' to all the nice people, Rosalie." "Hello, nice people. My name is Rosalie (on the left). This is my sister, Frankie."
"You will remember that our mother, Trinity, was featured in the May newsletter. She's the three-legged cat. Our mom had five babies. We are keeping her busy with feedings and baths, but she is doing well. The very best news is that she has a home to go to when we are ready to leave."
"We have to leave mom? I don't want to go."
"It will be okay, Frankie. We will have nice homes, too."
"Even though we are very little we have responsibilities. It's our job to tell you about what's happening at the shelter this month. The news is big.
There is going to be a kitten shower. I don't mean the kind of shower with soap and water; I mean the kind where we get presents."
"Oh boy, presents. Who's going to give us presents, Rosalie?"
"It might be some of the people who are reading this newsletter right now.
Please take a look at the kitten shower invitation and come to our party."
"Also, look at some of the other cats that need homes. Maybe you will see the cat you have been waiting for."

VANDALISM AT THE SHELTER Very early on the morning of May 20 board members from the shelter were alerted by police about vandalism at the shelter.
The members arrived and found that rocks had been thrown through two large windows in the community room. The rocks were thrown with such force that two of them were embedded in the walls. Another rock had flown threw the community room, broke threw a plexiglass wall, and landed in the next room.
The shelter representatives were shocked to find the cats huddled together in a corner and glass covering the floors. They spent the next several hours comforting the cats, cleaning the mess, and boarding up the broken windows.
All of the cats were monitored for glass in their paws and other injuries. It is a wonder that no cats were harmed and none escaped.
A police investigation has identified the people who did the damage and appropriate action will be taken. The same gang was also responsible for damage to other buildings in the surrounding areas.
In the meantime, the shelter has a $500 insurance deductible which must be paid before the windows can be fixed. If you can help repair the shelter, please send your donation to the address below or click the PayPal button.
