Reef Coco Beach
The REEF COCO BEACH  is a wonderful all-inclusive resort that opened in November 2003.  It has a great location just north of Playa del Carmen (20 minute walk) on a beautiful stretch of beach.  The best features of this resorts are its compact size, beautiful pools and beach, and fun, energetic staff.

Ramp from lobby to pool area:  There are three levels.  When you first come in to the lobby area you are on the second level.  In this area is the reception, lobby bar, theatre, and a boutique.   When you go down the ramp you are on the ground level.  To the right of the ramp is the kids club (you can see the roof of the play structure). To the left of the ramp is the round kids pool. The pool in the center has a large ledge with lounge chairs in the water (very nice!) and a swim up bar. To the left of the pool  is the El Palmar Snack bar  and activities centre.  Closer to the beach is the Miramar buffet restaurant and bar.  You need to go up the stairs one level to get to the two specialty restaurants (Sabor and Rosinella) and the Sports Bar, which are located on top of the buffet restaurant with wonderful ocean views.

The gym and spa are on the ground floor, reached by stairs or elevator from the lobby area.  The one tennis court and the basketball court are actually located on the roof.

The resort is very compact and easy to get around.  The 200 rooms are in 3 & 4 storey buildings in a horseshoe shape, most have a pool or partial ocean view.  They all have bathtubs, hairdryers, stocked fridges. Maximum occupancy is 4. For larger families, there are 35 sets of connecting rooms (one room with king bed connecting to room with 2 double beds). There is a charge of $3/day for the safes.  Room service is available for breakfast and dinner.

The watersports center is open 9am - 5pm.  You can take out boogie boards, kayaks, windsurfers and hobiecats for one hour at a time.  They also offer some group lessons at designated times:  windsurfing lessons at 10am, sailing lessons at 12pm.  They also have some snorkelling equipment you can use, or you can take a snorkelling tour (extra charge).
