| Some gifts are fancy, And finished with a bow, Some gifts are pricey, Good to tell and show, But some gifts are priceless, Though inexpensive to bestow, Yes, some things are perfect, To set a loved heart aglow. Have you ever kept good feelings towards the people you love to yourself, because it just sounded well, too corny to go and say, "You know, I really love you"? I can help, I can put into beautiful poetry all those lump-in-your-throat-but-so-hard-to-express emotions that simmer on the surface. Whether it's a special birthday, anniversary, or just a day that's made special by the special people in your life, I can help make it even more special by designing and writing the gift of a lifetime. About me: Newsflash just in! I have been named the first-place winner in Blue Mountain Arts 3rd Biannual Poetry Card Contest. Read the poem. I am a published writer and poet, I have had articles and poems published in newspapers like the San Jose Mercury News(read it here) indiaparenting.com, (my poem can be seen here ), www.parentinghumor.com and Femina. One of my short stories won a bronze tiger award in toasted cheese.com's annual competition and another won an honorable mention in one of www.absolutewrite.com's contests. But most of all, I have felt the thrill of being able to touch those chords in the people I love with my poetry. I have made stolid and unemotional people cry with the right words in the right place at the right time. And I have been able to give, time and time again, the most unique and heartwarming gift of all--a poem straight from the heart. How it all began: It all began one hot summer day in 1998, when our 6-year-old Dobermann. Max, died suddenly. He was our first dog, and was kind of the baby of the family. My family dealt with the pain in different ways. Mine was to pen a poem describing all the little characteristics that we had grown to love so much and that we would never forget. My entire family, especially my mother, who seemed to be the worst hit, agreed that though the poem opened up painful memories, it also helped start the healing process. And that's why this poem, though it is not one of my best literary compositions will always have a special place. Not only does it keep a beloved pet alive in our hearts, but it also managed to touch a few other beloved hearts along the way. Read the poem here. What I can do for you: I can help you give that perfect gift, that piece of poetry that encapsulates your feelings neatly, concisely, artistically. Tell me about yourself and your relationship with the recipient of the poem. Tell me two or three specific instances that corroborated that relationship and made you feel loved, (those incidents could be as simple as making you a cup of hot soup on a cold day), tell me any special petnames or nicknames you call one another, tell me what tone you want the poem to be in (funny, whimsical, serious, romantic etc) and whether you prefer rhymed or unrhymed, and watch the magic happen! I can print your own personalized poem on greeting card stationery, on magnetic paper, on iron-on patches for a designer T-Shirt or anything else you can think of! My samples: Personally I prefer unrhymed verses for serious emotions and touching messages, and rhymed verse for the more flip moments in life. But it's up to you, I am equally good at both.
