| The charming village of Barkway lies approximately 4 miles south-east of Royston in the county of Hertfordshire and is situated on the B1368 road which runs between Puckeridge and Cambridge. The church of St Mary Magdalene is situated just 100 yards to the west of this road down a leafy lane near the centre of the village. We have a 15 cwt ground floor ring of 8 which are hung on modern ball bearings on a steel frame. We are members of the Hertford County Association of Change Ringers (Bishop's Stortford District). We have an enthusiastic band and practice every Monday from 7.45pm to 9pm. Visitors and new recruits are always warmly welcomed. In addition we hold a Surprise Major practice on the second Thursday of each month from 11.00am to 12.30pm where we attempt the ring the standard eight and beyond.
