Munger's Rangers, a War of 1812 unit from Montgomery County, was established by Brigadier General Edmund Munger, a leading citizen of Centerville, Ohio. Munger, Commandant of the 5th Brigade of the 1st Division of the Ohio Militia (Montgomery County), established the Rangers as the 1st Regiment of the 5th Brigade. The Rangers' mission was to rove the area between their base at Hole's Creek, the Indiana border, and north to Greenville to engage the enemy at every opportunity and to provide intelligence on enemy movements.
Munger's Rangers are uniformed in traditional period hunting garb and carry long rifles.
1812 equipment for sale. A partial list includes:   All necessary clothing items: wraparound and pullover dark green rifleman frocks, the shirts, trousers, shoes, boots gaiters and so on.  Clothing sizes XL, shoes etc 10-1/2. Hats 7-3/8ths straw, round with turned up brim, brand new tricorn, wide black leather belt with forged iron buckle.
Weapons: Navy Arms replica 58 cal. 1804 Harpers Ferry rifle-well used but fully functional-a rare piece with all accoutrements and woolen gun glove.  A dragoon-style Kentucky 50 cal flintlock pistol with black 8 round belly cartridge box decorated with pewter militia eagle, and a Leatherworks period correct cross-draw holster (left side), display stand.
Stainless steel canteen period pattern, Iroquois pattern tomahawk, telescoping brass spyglass with case and webbing, 18” “Bowie” pattern rifleman’s knife (a beauty) and scabbard, mess gear and period utensils, haversacks (one new), 1751 British pattern infantry officer’s saber with black leather baldric, long scarlet silk officer’s sash, all manner of small goods.
Tenting 1812 officer’s and all poles and pegs, 1812 enlisted man’s tent ditto, 12 ft x 12 ft centerpole canopy with poles and pegs. Ground cloth. Wrought iron rifle rests for camp. Folding table, Napolean style folding X-shaped chair w/flat seatRifle cleaning and servicing kit in 2-layer compartments in 50 caliber large size  ammunition box.  Every conceivable tool plus a bore light for muzzle loaders.
Pricing: item dependent-generally one half or less than current retail.  Heavy items (such as tenting) and weapons must be picked up locally in Bellbrook, Ohio.
