I always had my cameria when I went outdoors, a hobby that I still have to this day. All the photos can be made larger by clicking on them. Welcome to the 2nd part of the web site, all about the Liberian Mining Company. It was the place that my family moved to during the early 1970's. It was a wonderful time in my life, something that I will never forget. I dedicated my whole site to all those that have died and suffered during the terrible Liberian  Civil War. May peace return soon and all the wonderful things that I remember bloom once again.
By the late 1940s, the Liberia Mining Company, Liberia’s first iron ore company was operational with American private investments. Then came the LAMCO J.V. Operating Company (a multi-national iron ore company comprising Liberian, American and Swedish interests. The B.F. Goodrich Company, another American rubber plantations company followed
The first company to export iron ore was the Liberian Mining Company of Bomi Hills. The ore was of the highest quality in the world and transported to Monrovia for shipping to Baltimore, Maryland where the Republic Steel Company refined the ore. Picture from G.M. Larry
Mrs. Barnes, the family that we moved to Bomi with, Jay and Carrie were the kids that I remember so well.
Ok there was plastic eggs with money that is why I am looking for Easter Eggs ha ha.
