Jesus is the Bridge Over Troubled Water
So many times we choose to learn the hard way or take things in a tough manner. We really shouldn't have to. Jesus is the bridge over our troubled waters. All we have to do is ask God to help us; just go across that bridge to the other side without having to go thru all the turmoil. The reason I say this is because I always have to learn things the hard way. Instead of asking God to help me to walk with Him, I seem to like to struggle in that troubled water. I've strayed away from the Lord so much that I know what it's like to be in that troubled water. I know what it's like to cry out, "help me, Lord!" I know what it's like to feel tired spiritually, feeling like I'm drowning. Drowning from lack of fellowship. Drowning from lack of prayer and just drowning in sin. That's why we need to ask God to help us when those troubled waters come before we even slip off the bridge in the first place. We must be grounded in His Word to keep us from slipping. Even when we do slip and fall, He's right there to pick us up. But sometimes we refuse to ask to get off of the side of the bridge. That is why Jesus is the bridge, the bridge that will stand still and stay solid. He is the only bridge between us and God. He is the bridge between our souls and Heaven. Is Jesus the bridge in your life? |
