Berge's Editorial Cartoons

Welcome to my editorial cartoon site. Glad you could drop by! Geocities is going the way of 8 track tapes and Look magazine on October 26. Those ads on the right weren't pulling in enough revenue for the yahoos at Yahoo! (They're also making me sign in every other screen. This just isn't a friendly neighborhood any more.) I will continue to post my cartoons on the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists web site, and I'm setting up a blog site. Geocities was fun while it lasted, but this site will disappear.

Stop bleeding on the car, okay?

"Right on, says Farrah Fawcett-Majors, the spectacularly maned frosted blonde who is first among equals as a sex object, seen braless on all the shows. She has even on occasion refused to don a bikini, not because she has an objection to the costume, but because she felt the only rationale for it was that they had 'reached a quiet point in the script and needed my body to liven things up.'"
--TIME magazine cover story, "TV's Super Women: Charlie's Angels," November 22, 1976

Boilerplate legal stuff: Please note that all cartoons on these pages are copyrighted either by me, or by the publications which printed them, or by the syndicate/s which distributed them. They may not be reproduced without permission of the particular copyright holder. Contact me by changing the "AT" to "@" in the address in this link. For reprint rights to anything gay-themed on this site, contact Q syndicate at EditorialCartoonATqsyndicate.com (Same deal with the AT/@). There, we've got all that out of the way, and I feel so much better.

About the Cartoonist

I began drawing LGBT-themed political cartoons on a regular basis since 1993, first for Gaze Magazine (Minneapolis), then for In Step News (Milwaukee). Since 1996, my cartoons have been syndicated to some 20 publications across the US and Puerto Rico and even South Africa through Q Syndicate. (See five of my Q Syndicate cartoons not posted on this site by clicking here.

I've also drawn cartoons for, or had them reprinted in, the Los Angeles Times, Out magazine, Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year, the Racine, Wisconsin Journal Times, Vanguard, Quayle Quarterly, Wisconsin Reasearch Center for Pluralism Report, In Brief (Bridgehampton, NY), Moneyed Politicians Weblog, Manitou Messenger, Iconoplastic magazine, Northcountry Journal, the UWM Post, UWP Ranger, and the UWSP Pointer.

The invitation Fort Worth Police and alcohol agents conducted a raid at Rainbow Lounge on the very 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn raid. One patron ended up in the hospital; witnesses say that he was slammed to the floor. The police, who are mounting a "gay panic" defense of their actions, say he fell.
