"Are you tired of the Rat Race? Does every day feel just like the one before? Are you sick of the daily grind?"... Well, we're here to help.
Parenthetically Speaking Productions (PSP) (in addition to The Savannah College of Art and Design) is proud to present Arias For The Mundane, a one man mini-opera a la "Office Space" meets La Boheme. The show follows Jon, who unknowingly lives in a humdrum nine-to-five lifestyle. Jon's life is regulated by his coffee maker, which becomes his morning rooster and his nightly prayer. The arias (sung in Italian of course) dramatize how meaningless his existence is until one day a random glimmer of a different life shows its head. We all have the freewill to pursue our own dreams, but will Jon realize his opportunity when it's sitting right in his mailbox?
Arias For The Mundane is written by and features James Junio, an inspiring New York actor and visual artist. This show was originally conceived at and made its world debut at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2003. Returning from the original production are Melanie T. Morgan (director), Chris Stanley (sound design), Merideth Leigh Beckert (costume design) and Maddalena Cerri (lyric translations). Producer David Lung heads this production.
