What is Quiz Bowl, you ask? Well, to put it in simple terms, it's a competition where only the smartest, quickest, and most intimidating win. You don't have to be intimidating, but it helps. Anyway, there are normally two sets of five buzzers set up (one set for each team). Teams, comprised of usually 5-6 members, sit at the buzzers and answer questions asked by the reader. A team member scores 10 points for each question they get right, and for every wrong answer they get a mean look by everybody else on their team. Most rounds also include worksheets, where both teams can score as many points as possible by writing down answers, all beginning with the same letter. Most Quiz Bowl competitions take the form of tournaments, which attract quite a few spectators from all of the teams competing, and most often ending in a heated final match between two of the best teams around. Ok, that wasn't so simple, but it gets the job done.
