As an Arab American female there is so much to say and no one to listen; or rather no outlet to give me a voice. Projectbint is the beginning stage of a book I would like to work on with the help of others like me. I am looking to gather experiences, feeling, thoughts, ideas, voices etc. I would like to explore the issues Arab American females have and the struggle towards growing up in the U.S.as someone who is "different". I would like to ultimately provide a forum where we females can lay it all out. I really do not know exactly how I will do this and where this project will lead however I know that we need a voice.
I would like to gather submissions to be used for this project. Writers are needed to submit: short stories, narratives, journal entries, songs, poetry, any type of creative outlet etc.
Topics include but are not limited to: relationships, family, friends, dreams/goals, marriage, independence/freedom, society, exploration, embarrassng moments, revalations, homosexual issues, living with parents, faith, family perceptions, coming of age, body image, illness, self-esteem, sex, school, boys, politics, racism, Arabian culture, Islamic religion etc.
All entries should share the theme of being an Arab American girl and the issues you have as you grow up or have had while you were growing up.
Guidelines: Please submit your name, age and location as well as your email address. All entries must be written in Times New Roman and should be written in 1st or 3rd person
