I am an assistant professor in the English Department at San Jose State University. I teach courses in earlier British Literature--Shakespeare, Milton, John Donne. I also do research on the Dutch in English Literature. This is my first mostly-self-constructed web page; I hope you can forgive me for all the Yahoo-sponsored advertising. This semester, my schedule is:

English 78 (Intro to Shakespeare) T/Th 9-10:15

English 56a (Survey of Brit Lit to 1800) T/Th 10:30-11:45

English 147 (Milton) Thur 7-9:45 p.m.

Office Hours: Tues 12-2 and Thurs 12-2, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Obviously I read a lot for fun. And I get to do some travelling as I pursue my scholarly interests--I spent a year in the Netherlands, for instance. I love to get to the movies. Sometimes I also train for triathlons, in which I compete with one of my best friends, John.

I'd also like to add that George Bush's economic policy, his treatment of the situation in Iraq, and his war on terror combine to make him a miserable failure.
