In the summer of 1993 I bought my first mustang a 1965 coupe 289. It barely ran and I did everything I could to keep it up, but eventually it broke my heart but I had to let it go.
Time passed and I felt I couldn't go without another Mustang. I wanted a 65 fastback but never could (and probably never would have) found one for about $2K running. So instead a friend of a friend was selling his 1989 GT and I bought it. It needed some work but loved every minute I had it. My friends, Russ aka Buddy Lee on AAS (2005 V6), Jamey (96 Mystic Cobra)(who won AAS'S March 2001s COTM), and lastly Steve in his modded 88GT!!
So me and my 89 traveled for a couple of years then when I graduated from SWT my father surprised me with a brand new car! Only thing was I had to trade in the 89 GT, reluctantly, I did. Got the 2000 V6 convertible. Got married to my wonderful wife Erin, who to this day supports but doesn't understand my obsession with Mustangs.
Well she got tired of hearing me complain about my lost love, and said if I could get the money together I could buy another Mustang. So I did and started my search for one. At first, before I had the ok from Erin, I had noticed a white fox GT rolling through our apartment complex from time to time. It was for sale but I never could catch them to talk about it. So in the mean time I started responding to the classifieds. Came close a couple of times but just wasn't satisfied. Then one night we were comming home from dinner and this white fox pulled into our complex at the same time. Dropped the wife off at home then ran him down. After talking to him for a bit and getting a good look over on the car I realized that this was Rosie, my old 89 I had traded to the dealership. I kept a strait face but inside I felt like Chip Foose had just revealed my car. Not telling him this I talked him down some and bought it back!!! I like to say Rosie found me. It's taken much blood sweat and tears to bring her back to life but now she will never leave my side.
