McMains Photo Gallery from the photo alburm of my Grandmother, Dorothea Marie Vernon
My grandmother did not have a brother Charles, so I'm assuming this card was meant for my g-grandmother Cora. The writing on the back reads" Dear Sister & Brother..Mamma has been sick for over 2 months under the Doctors care. She is a little better. The girls have been down and have just gone home. Write right back, & will let you know how she is.....Chas McMains."  Anyone know which boy he is?
Thanks to a McMains cousin, Tom House, we now know who these folks are in the next two photos. Email was a bit ambiguous, but as far as I can tell: Parents: Charles and Anna McMains (Anna died at age 95 abt 1990). Children: L-R counter-clockwise in the picture below: Dickie, Jane, Shirley, and Dorothy (Tom's mother, still living as of 2003). Two children not pictured were Chuck and Corie.
Writing on back of photo says:
"The whole Dam Family Jane, Dickie, Dorothy and Anna McMains."

Charles is noted for having a bad temper, could be the reason for the scowls? Who knows!
Another strange photo. No writing to help identify them. But we now know she is Anna McMains, the unhappy mother in the other photo with husband Charles to the left.
Picture to the right is of Lucy McMains with grand-daughter (my grandmother) Dorothea Marie Vernon. Judging by the Census', I'd say Lucy was more mother to Dorothea than Cora was.
Picture to the left is of mother and daughter. In back, daughter Cora McMains, in front mother Lucy McMains.
Obit clipping in my grandmother's photo album. She is listed as "daughter" (Mrs. Dorothea Paulson (3rd husband)). Cora's  husband at this time is Park Fullerton. As you can see Charles McMains is a survivor here  and I believe he is the brother Chas that sent the first picture post card shown above.
Hard to read, so I'll transcribe it:
