Black Orchids
Waiting for this dance
Black orchids oh so grand
Woman of great mystery
She sweetly takes your hand

Brings you closely to her
Whispers in your ear
Tells you that you're special
The things you want to hear

Sways with gentle music
Your head is spinning fast
You want the song to finish
But somehow it will last
Feel her breath upon you
This night the moon is high
Heart so close to bursting
Yet know no reason why

The dance is finally over
She slowly turns away
An orchid at your feet now
Your heart is lost today

You look up for a moment
The room is all but bare
Within your hand black orchid
Your dream now disappears.

SO WHAT IS LOVE?

So what is love? If thou wouldst know
The human heart alone can tell:
Two minds with but a single thought,
Two hearts that beat as one.

And whence comes Love? Like morning bright
Love comes without thy call.
And how dies Love? A spirit bright,
Love never dies at all.

The Best Thing in the World

What's the best thing in the world?
June-rose, by May-dew impearled;
Sweet south-wind, that means no rain;
Truth, not cruel to a friend;
Pleasure, not in haste to end;
Beauty, not self-decked and curled
Till its pride is over-plain;
Love, when, so, you're loved again.
What's the best thing in the world?
--Something out of it, I think.
