The Specialist Games Forum

The official home of Specialist Games.  This forum is the place for definitive answers to rules questions in all Specialist Games, including Inquisitor; and for giving feedback on experimental rules.

The Conclave

The most notorious gathering of renegade Inquisitors in the known galaxy.  The Conclave is a robust venue for the discussion of the Inquisitor hobby, as well as for showing off your latest fan-fic or taking part in online role-play.

Warseer Inquisitor Board

Warseer has now got a dedicated board for discussing Inquisitor.

Dark Magenta

A brand new webzine dedicated to everything fabulous about Inquisitor.  Issue One is out soon!

Substantially updated, my gallery has now been divided into four sections:

The Inquisition

The Imperium

The Adeptus Mechanicus

Rogues & Enemies

The Conclave Hobby Competition 2005

Back in 2005, Within-Without-Beyond hosted a hobby competition.  Check out the entries and winners here!

A selection of Golden Demon winners

Gathered from around the web, here are some 54mm Inquisitor models that won Golden Demons.

Kaled's Inquisitor Gallery

If you haven't seen Kaled's stuff before, then check it out.  One of the most prolific and talented guys working in the Inquisitor hobby today!

Calling all Inquisitors!

There's a bit of a dearth of good Inquisitor galleries out there, right now.  If you've got a website showcasing your own models, send me a link and perhaps you'll see your name in lights! Usual Address

Inquisitor Modelling Resource Index

The Inquisitor Modelling Resource Index

You want bits?  I got bits.  This is the definitive and last word in parts and pieces for your Inquisitor conversions and has become something of a legend in its own lunchtime.  It does need a little updating, though.  Keep your eyes peeled for fixed links and new bits.

If you have any comments, observations, or corrections, please email me.

Precinct Omega's Favourite Bits
This is a little addition to the IMRI that lists some of my favourite bits and conversions in more detail than the IMRI allows.

The Playtest Library

All of the links below are to official Experimental Rules, House Rules, Forum suggestions and other sites where you can find new rules for your games of Inquisitor.  There is a plethora of House Rules out there of varying quality.  What the rules at these links have in common is that I think they're worth your time.  Whether you think that's a recommendation or not is up to you:

Official Experimental Rules PDF - Lucky Shot, Up Close and Encumbrance are all detailed here.

Melee Weapon Customizer - The work of Helst and Charax, this site describes their rules for customizing the basic weapons given in the LRB.  This is a work in progress.  I'll try to include links to the further customizer rules as and when they come up.

Inquis Ex Officio - The Conclave members come up with a lot of excellent ideas and suggestions, some of which need a good, thorough play-testing to fine-tune.  The best of these ideas will be gathered in this thread.

Campaigns & Tournaments

Inquisitor: Secrets & Lies

The first Inquisitor universal campaign, run throughout 2005, is still a great resource for s structure campaign.  The Player Handbook contains everything you need to know.

In order to preserve the host's bandwidth, please right-click on the link above and "Save Target As...".

Inquisitor: Architecture of Hate

Released in honour of the Summer 2006 "Fall of Medusa V" Campaign, Architecture of Hate was played at Warhammer World during the Dark Stars campaign.  Now you, too, can investigate the shady dealings in Sybilla Tertius.

Frequently Asked Questions can be found here.  I've moved this section out of the Vault as it was unnecessarily difficult to find.

The Essential Inquisitor Library has been here for a while, but I've only just got around to putting a link to it here on the front page.   This is where you'll find links to official Games Workshop material (most of it hosted by GW themselves).  It may be considered a deposit of everything an Inquisitor player should know.

The Vault is where I put everything that I think deserves a look but which doesn't fit into any other category or qualify for its own separate link.

Codex: Dark Imperium is the end result of some really intense on-line role-playing at the Conclave.  It is a complete source book for an area of the galaxy near the Eastern Rim where some very nasty creatures have built a small empire of blood and horror.  Do you dare to take your Inquisitor into the Dark Imperium?

Malleus Maleficarum is the real guidebook for Inquisitors and Witch Hunters in 1486.  WWB in no way condones the persecution of people of other faiths and beliefs.  The Malleus Maleficarum ("Hammer of Witches") is presented here to prompt the imaginative exploitation of its content in the Imperium of Man and for no other purpose.

News Update

11 July 07 - Many thanks to Kaled for sending me a link to his gallery.  And for pointing out some mistakes elsewhere on the site.

12 June 07 - I've added links to the Essential Inquisitor Library and to Precinct Omega's Favourite Bits, as well as removing some dead links around the place.  Housekeeping continues.  Many thanks to those who have emailed with suggestions and observations.

10 June 07 - More updates!  I must be on fire.  I'm mainly reworking the WWB gallery of my own collection.  At the moment, this consists of updating the material with thumbnails and links to new images.  I due course, I hope to expand it by adding modelling and painting notes to each character entry.  I'll get to the IMRI in due course, I promise!  In the mean time, if you enjoy using WWB, send me an email to tell me what you like and what else you'd like to see.  Usual address.

7 June 07 - Well, so much for that plan!  But I'm back and I'm spring-cleaning Within-Without-Beyond, thanks to the help of Evrsoft's First Page 2006.  Download it for free, here!  I'm not being paid to say that, by the way*.  So, what's new?  Well, I've tidied up this News page and put the old news into an Archive.  You should also have spotted the new logo up top, I hope.

*Although, if anyone from Evrsoft reads that, I wouldn't say "no".

31 July 06 - It's been a while since this site had a scrub over, but I haven't gone away.  Over the next month, I'll be revisiting every section to ensure that all the links still work and that all the latest information is available for users.  Let me know if you spot any flaws or have any suggestions.  Usual address.
