Potter in Los Lunas, NM

Yes, a potter in Los Lunas, New Mexico.  A small town about twenty miles south of Albuquerque.  Of course it is a great place to reside with a shop and kilns. The pottery has been enjoyed for nearly twenty years and hopes are for at least another twenty.    The design carving is by far my most favorite part of the pottery process.   The carving is not the final, nor start, of the procedure for making the pieces, but easily the most favored.  The works are thrown pieces and yes, that is enjoyabale. Dirty yes, but always everso enjoyable to pull the fired pieces from the kilns.

We all have desire to do things that give us some inner personal satisfaction.  Within me, the pottery fills that need.   A perfectionist perhaps, but I am the main one who needs to be satisfied with the pottery work.  This page frequently reminds me of the start with the pottery.  The pieces were small and at that time they were an accomplishment that was merely a start.  Some were saved and it is good to reflect upon the hassle involved with those smaller initial pieces.  Hopefully these pages will grow in complexity, similar to my  growth and capability, with the carving of the pottery.
