to my Plum Island NY Lighthouse Website. My interest in this lighthouse has a personal side, as I was one of a crew of Keepers stationed there during 1977. It would take some time for me to completely realize the impact this year would have on my life and the pride I would feel, being a part of this American Tradition. I can not even begin to pretend to be a "Lighthouse Expert". What I don't know far outweighs what I know about lighthouses. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know how to properly pronounce "Fresnel Lens" ( pronounced fray'nel ). What I can talk about though, is my experience of living this piece of American History.
