Link to my Forgotten Realms Stories
A few words of explanation if I may. There are two different links below for each of the stories. The title picture for each story is a link to the text version. Underneath is a link to the Word version of the story. Many people have told me that my stories are too long to read on the computer, and they need to print them out. In an effort to save our rainforests, I have formatted the Word files so they compress the story as much as possible. If you have REALLY good eyes, you can reduce the font size even further than I have. Please tell me what you think of these.
A Jedi is killed while searching for an ancient Jedi artifact. This comes at a crucial time for the Jedi for the Sith have returned after a long absence. If they should get their hands on the artifact first . . . This story comes about a decade before The Phantom Menace.
**Well, once again Dave, you have reminded me why I consider you one of the best writers on this whole web site or, in fact, one of the best writers whose work I have read. Great work as usual.
**Well you've done it again. This is another great work worthy to be called a novel and not fanfiction. You rate up there with great others like Zahn, Stakepole, and others.
**So, basically, as usual, you managed a good story that also had both comedy and truth/philosophy.
The Dark Ring is like eighteen million Death Stars on steroids. A hidden collection of Imperials begins to wreak havoc on the universe as the Dark Ring nears completion. The badguys use brains as well as brawn and seriously threaten the Republic’s existence.
**Just thought I'd drop you a note to say that your "Dark Ring" story is the best star wars fanfic I have ever read.
**I'd simply like to express my graditude to you for writing Dark Ring and Return of the Empire. I love Fan Fiction, but what you're writing is not Fan Fiction, they are simply installments in the Star Wars Novel universe.
**HALLELUJIA!!!!! Finally, some long reading material I don't have to check out of the library!!!
The surviving Imperials, led by Admiral Snotzenexer, decide to engage the Republic in a new type of warfare. In Star Wars’ version of the Cold War, Snotzenexer carefully dismantles the current Republic government and replaces it with his own. At the same time, he slowly removes one Jedi threat after another.
**Hey!!! A place to comment on the Snotzenexer trilogy!!! I read it at www.fanfix.com and absolutely LOVED all three of them (+ everything else you've written). WOW! How can you possibly juggle so many characters, details, places, plotlines ... they were stupendous! I was checking fanfix.com every day for months waiting for the final installment ... Hey, everybody out there who likes Star Wars & reading - READ THESE! It's totally worth it!
**Snotzenexer is an AWSOME character, It is really refreshing to see a decent imperial characer, and I find him better then Zahn's Tharwn.
**It’s too bad that Lucas keeps such a tight control over the number the star wars books published and not the qualitiy, because the two stories of yours that I have read are by far, better then Crystal Star, The Boutey Hunter Series, the Corllian Trilogy, and in my opinion better then Darksaber as well.
**Wow return of the empire really blew my mind
**I enjoyed the story very much! It was really well put together, and whoever said so was right when they said it reads like a profic novel. I loved all the convoluted plans you made; I am at a loss as to how you could have kept them all together.
**I just read the Dark Ring and the Return of the Empire... WOW!! Those are GOOD!! Well I really liked reading them, and I'm itching to read the sequel.
This story takes place a couple days after the end of "The Return of the Empire." Mara and friends desperately try to strike back against Snotzenexer who has placed himself in a position of extreme power. Each day the new President of the Republic increases his holdings and expands his realm of influence. Our heroes have to not only rescue the remaining members of their party from an assortment of fates, but also need to devise a plan to stop Snotzenexer before he missuses his power.
** Unzipped it just after 12 midnight. Finished it at 2:00am. I have exams - how can you do this to me! WOW is all I can say. You have the gift. These stories are at least as good as some of the stuff Zahn is producing. I thoroughly enjoyed the three parts so far. You have to mail me the next part when it is completed (PLEASE!).
**Hey! I just wanted to say thanks for a great story I can't wait to see the end! How're you going to get them out of this one... or are you? Well thanks anyway I enjoyed the ride!
Mara, Leia, Han, and Thomas Thorin, an ex-Imperial Captain rescued from Hoth, slowly begin to amass a respectable rebel force. Snotzenexer monitors their progress while formulating plans of his own. The result is a clash between the two sides that will change the shape of the galaxy forever.
**First let me just say that this was the most anticipated fanfic I've ever read. This first couple of weaks after reading part 2 I just couldn't beleive I'd have to wait a while before I could find how you would rap things up. And I must say I wasn't disappointed.
**Wow! What an awesome story! It took me awhile to get through the whole thing, and now that I've finished it I'm glad I stuck it out. It really is quite an amazing story. Thanks for writing it Dave you are truly talented!
Jacen is on a scouting trip for his mother when he bumps into the woman of his dreams. She is tied up with a deeply entrenched crime ring, and not only does he have to rescue her from them, he has to save himself from the same fate.
**This is one heck of a read. I really liked how the author characterized Jacen with cool slick humor. Other young jedi pieces throw in cheezy "lightbulb" jokes and completely disrespect the character. This being the first rather long piece star wars fan fiction that I have read, it's also the first that's really in touch with emotions. EXCELLENT! I also thought the closure of the story was very well written. Without giving anything away, let's just say I was moved.
**You know, I have never actually sat down for the entire Star Wars epic before, nor have I ever read any SW fanfiction. Reading "Diamonds are Forever" was my first experience doing so under the brilliant hands of David Pontier, and I guarantee you, it certainly won't be the last. The riveting storyline, the characters and their development, the entire ending in its absolute exquisite beauty, the Force, and the undying love that sustains it - it's all here, in this piece of literary masterpiece. And until the very end, I,like Jacen, waited for those deep blue eyes to open. I wasn't disappointed.
**I just got done reading Diamonds Are Forever and I just have to say it is the best fanfic I have ever read!
**Thank you sooooo much! I was becoming terrified that I'd never find any story that would not be written by an adolescent, restricted by King George or would treat my Jacen with deference he deserved!
**Hey man, how's it going. I just finished reading Diamonds are Forever for the third time and it amazes me.
**This is one of the most touching stories in the Star Wars universe. I enjoyed it. It reminds me that all life is important. Also that we all have a long time limit to enjoy it to the fullest.
**This story has a well thought out plot line and is well writen. Out of the MANY fan fiction stories I've read, this is one of the best.
**I read your story, "Diamonds Are Forever" and I strongly encourage you to try and get it published. It's that good! Trust me, I should know.
Jacen is stranded on a strange planet with five very different survivors. He struggles desperately as he tries to keep the group together while fighting against the elements. Jacen is tested to limits he didn’t know existed, and in the end, he needs to face his biggest foe: himself.
**Excellent story from all aspects. Congradulations. --:)
**A really well written story. I hope there'll be a sequel! Ariela needs to be resurrected one more time!
**Hi, i just finished reading your stories, "diamonds are forever" and "thegame", and they were great, it's the best i've read on this site (fanfix.com) !!!!!!!!
Jaina kills a mysterious Dark Jedi and is haunted by him as she tries to resume a normal life at the Academy. Her grip on reality evaporates into a fantasy world designed by her tormentor, and her only way out may come at the expense of someone very close to her.
**That was a wonderful story!!!! I love Jaina stories, but this one takes the cake. The action scenes were awsome, I felt like I was watching the movies. Looks like it took a while to get this story done, but it was well worth it. Great job!
**Yet another great story! Though, I must say, 'Diamonds Are Forever' still ranks as my favorite of yours, and any other Star Wars fic. Can't wait for your next piece.
**Wow. High praise isn't too hard to get from me, but this is absolutely amazing! I have never seen such good fanfic, and I've seen quite a lot of it too.
**Absolutly wonderful! I don't usually enjoy fics with Jaina and Jacen much, but this one...I LOVED it! I hope you'll write more!
**Holy cow.. Normally I dun read long stories like these, but these kept my attention. Excellent job! Absol
**Oh, wow. Totally worth the 45 minutes I spent reading it. The plot was deep and intricate, the songs/peoms at the beginning of the sections fit perfectly, and it was so entirely well-done that I would not be totaly shocked to see you published in the "real world" very soon. This was pro-fiction caliber. In a word, breathtaking. Keep writing, and may the Force be with you!
When a prominent senator is murdered in the lower levels of Coruscant with a lightsaber, Jacen is fingered as the killer. As Luke tries to fight the case in court, Jaina is left with the task of finding the real killer.
**It's been a long time since I was really surprised by a story, but yours got to me. Good work, especially when dealing with all the unexpected twists and turns that constitute a good mystery. That was the most original Star Wars story I've seen in a long time, even among the "official" canon. Not only did you nail down some pretty complex characters, you managed to weave a complex plot and still make it believable to those familiar with the Star Wars universe. An exellent peice of work. I hope you intend to write more Star Wars stuff, because I look foward to reading it. I know the length of this story might put some people off, but I was never bored or wishing it would end. Keep it up!
**This is probably one of the best pieces of (complete) fanfiction I've read in a long while. I don't think I every really guessed where it was going and believe me, *that* is a serious compliment
**What can I say....Ok, nothing profound except WOW AWESOME BRILLIANT.....you did a wonderful job on this and I loved any kind of Jaina stories. Tell me you're a lawyer? Because man, you got all those court room scenes perfect! lol I really look forward to the next thing you post!!!!!!!!!!! (Hope you don't make me wait too long :)
**Ack! How do you do that? I was glued to my screen, and my brain is still locked into the story. Wonderful stuff. Right now, bask in the glory of knowing that you wrote another winner.
**You write a vicious story, sir. That was finely twisted and compelling, in the tradition of Agatha Christie. I was wrong in every evolution of my thoughts on the outcome, and completely surprised by the truth. Congrats, another wonderfully woven tale, and a very engaging mystery.
A Republic scout team crash-lands on a primitive world and encounters the galaxy’s most horrific creation. They were sent to the planet to investigate a primitive civilization and find that the locals worship this monstrosity. To top it off, the invented deity is the most powerful Force being in existence.
**One thing I'll have to say for it is that it is probably the most original story on the face of the earth, or at least in Star Wars-dom.
A young boy is haunted by disturbing visions that his parents can’t explain. They are desperate to find out what is wrong with their child and are happy when an unknown organization takes interest in their son.
**Now, can I review this without including spoilers... That was quite a plot twist there! I liked the writing style, especially the way you handled the dialogue. I LOVED the way the story built up towards the ending, with the two children showing just how special they were without really knowing what they were doing. Your characterisations were also very good. Well done!
**This story rocks!
**That was so sad! It was well written and had a good story, and a *very* unexpected ending. I hope to see more from you in the future!
**What an intrigueing story! The end took me completely by surprise. Good job.
**Strong characters, good imagery, interesting idea. Great story!!
**Yet another great story. You are definitely one of the premier Star Wars fanfic authors out there. Once again, I can't wait to read your next work.
**Wow. This was extremely good. You should write professionally. This is one of the best pieces I've ever read *anywhere.* Will you write more? Please? ::bows down in the presence of a superior talent::
