| This pillbox is also beside the Bridgwater to Taunton canal, a short way on, towards Bridgwater, from the one above, guarding a small intersection by a bridge. These pillboxes woul have formed part of Southern Command: Taunton Stop Line - Stop line running North to South through Somerset and South Devon - from Highbridge to Seaton via Taunton. They would also probably been part of the Creech St. Michael anti-tank island. (Photos David Tacchi) |
