The MD (Physiology) course
was introduced in the year 1941 and the first MD was awarded to Dr.
Narendra Singh in 1943. The department has produced several
distinguished physiologists such as Prof RC Shukla who is
internationally recognised for his work on dual action of
acetylcholine and Prof AS Paintal whose work on J
receptors in the lungs is also highly acclaimed.
The
department is involved in teaching and training
of
i) undergraduate and postgraduate medical
and dental students,
ii) diploma students in
various specialities such as Tuberculosis & Chest Diseases,
Ophthalmics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Otolaryngology and
Orthopedics,and
iii) diploma Naturopathy and Yoga students. |
