Manichaeism

What is Manichaeism

1. Manichaeism is a system of religious belief based on radical dualism.

Explanation:

religious = it does not concern the natural laws of the reality which one knows through one's senses. It is about reality or realities "higher" than this world and thus cannot be understood by any analogy taken from the world.

belief = it is a kind of information referring to the things which cannot be grasped by limited human faculties, yet they can be known as some horizon-framing interpretation, which explains the world, the universe and human role in it. Such beliefs should of course not be contradictory and thus illogical (as some religions are), but hyperlogical, i.e. logic can be used up to their lower limit, then the only thing possible is a complex mystic vision (see also Plato's analyses in his dialogue Parmenides). When something transcends human logic, it does not necessarily mean it is contradictory itself. On the other hand, the idea of an absolute and almighty good God who punishes His beloved, lets Evil work and grow or who had to create a world worse than Himself or whose workings caused the appearance of Evil is contradictory from the very beginning of its being conceived and cannot be explained by poiting to its hyperlogical nature.

radical dualism = in general, every dualism claims that there are two essentially different principles of reality. Sometimes these two are represented by pairs of opposites as light/darkness, knowledge/ignorance, spirit/matter (also mind/body), Good/Evil, etc. By the word radical is meant the fact, which is sometimes confused or not mentioned, that the two principles are absolutely contrary (neither bipolar nor binary!), i.e. they oppose each other in their very essences and have nothing in common, and they are eternal, non-created and undestroyable. This point has often been attacked by Neoplatonists and after their fashion by Christians (or by Neoplatonic Christians, as e.g. Augustine Aurelius), but their objections are based on the abstract notion of Being (imagine abstraction like one dull shade derived from all things in the sun), which has only so much in common with the real world as has the shadow of a thing on a wall to that real existing thing outside the wall and is thus irrelevant. So, by the phrase "radical dualism" it is not meant here any kind of "false" or "created" dualism (as, e.g. in Plato's philosophy or in the Bible, i.e. The Creator versus His Creation), but an eternal one.

2. Manichaeism resolutely refuses violence as the means of fighting against Evil.

The ethics of Manicheism is based on Buddha's teachings. As manicheism is a radical dualism, it cannot use violence to sort of "fight" against any Evil in the world. This confusion originates in the false belief that every dualism means violent fighting among two opposing Gods. This idea is an imanent underlying principle of a different religious system born in Persia: zoroasterianism, where two Gods, the one of Evil and the one of Good, fight each other using power. On the contrary, Manichaeans keep to Buddha's ethics and thus they cannot and do not want to use violence, but they employ non-violence. Any violence caused on Earth means that the one who uses it will drown deeper in the cycle of reincarnation, get deeper into the dark abyss of Matter. Manicheism, last but not least, also believes that in every living organism there is the so-called Cross of Light, parts of Light that have been imprisoned in the world of Matter by the evil God of Darkness to weaken the Kingdom of Light. Matter without it is dead. No manichean would ever want to deliberately hurt this Cross of Light, as it is, by definition, also in all Men and Women and is consubstantial with the Father as we are. Therefore, any statement claiming that W. is acting like a Manichean is false, as it messes up two different things: the false dualism of opposing forces (principles) and the true dualism of Good (Peace) and Evil (Violence, War). W. is rather a Zoroasterian fighter or a Biblical Jehova or a fanatic religious turncoat or post-Protestant greedy pig, but never a Buddhist-like, peaceful and ascetic Manichaean. The Good has no power, at least not the power of violence as Evil has. By absteining from any use of evil power (violence) every human can contribute to the salvation of Light from Matter and to the separation of part of our spiritual home from the Darkness. The world is only a mingling of Light and Darkness and real happiness cannot be found here, yet every man and woman feels an unalienable right of happiness - why? What is good in Humans does not belong to Matter at all. We do not belong to this world.

3. Attitude toward Suicide: NO!

It is necessary to state clearly and unambiguously that Suicide is not a solution. It is NOT a means of "redemption" (rather salvation) as it still uses violence concerning Matter and thus causes in it dark and powerful gyres that will, on the point of soul's departure, drag it down to its prison again, even lower (i.e. a human will become an animal). You cannot even get anywhere higher by a series or a chain of suicides, as you would fancy - any violence to Matter causes it to gain more power over You. Out of the same reason, even body-torturing ascetism is banned! The only means of salvation of your soul is to peacefully RECOGNIZE the real causes of EVIL and CEASE to sustain them in your life. Once you refuse violence and will try to avoid it and "defuse" potential conflicts everywhere you are able to, you will be "automatically", i.e. by the very nature of the peaceful spirit of Light, saved. Your soul will on the point of your naturally arrived death come back from Matter to its Father of Light, the King of the Kingdom of Light, to which every living being belongs.

4. One main reason why I should be a follower of Manichaeanism?

Do not be a follower! :) At least, do not be a blind follower, do not be a sheep led by wolves into deep woods, a sheep not recognizable from the rest of the herd, do not be just a nervously baaing number blindly believing in any contradictory nonsense. So the one reason is: ask Yourself: where is Evil from if humans naturally long for Good and happiness? How could Evil arise out of the workings of the almighty good God? And why should Evil be naive? How could it be unreal if it really influences? Is pain unreal? Why did the small Jewish children suffer and die in Nazi concentration camps even if they were absolutely innocent? How does the idea of an absolutely good God match the horrible world He has created? How can you identify Jesus's Father of Love with The Old Testament Jehova who behaves like a revengeful, childish demon? Is this a real God you want to love? The one reason is thus like this: Manicheanism explains consistently the existence of Good and Evil. It is neither masochistic (blaming oneself for st. bad which one did not do) nor satanistic (it does not believe Satan (the Dark King) that Evil is necessary for reaching Good) nor military (it rejects violence and the idea of power fighting power: as Buddha said: You cannot stop fire with fire.)

5. The Eternity and the World in Manichaeism

The eternityof the Hyperreality. Both principles are clearly (essentially) separated from each other, not mingled. The violet colour stands for Nothingness which is NOT a Principle, it is absolutely empty, the unchanging and passive Nothing.
The realm of time, of (changing) state or of the Unpredictable after the two principles have been partly messed together, so that part of the Light could be imprisoned in the Darkness. The result is the world as we know it. A world in which no clear divisions or binary oppositions can be SEEN or else felt, though they can be THOUGHT by our souls, as they remember the eternal Division... This world is just a mingled compound of the two realities and of the nothingness, so no essence of Matter can be found as there is no such essence in Nothingness. Therefore Matter needs both the principles to continue. Once the two realms are separated again, Matter will disappear in the unchanging, empty Nothingness and will cease to exist.

The God of Light sends the messangers of Light. Once the truth is known to You, I cannot do anything more for Your soul. It is Your life, boys and girls. What do you want to explain after Auschwitz (Oswiecim)? Your life will be the same as the god(s) you believe in.
