Village Light Opera Group of New York City & The Philbeach Society The fifth British-American Light Opera Exchange took place in the summer 2000 and 2001.
VLOG invited Philbeach to come to New York in 2000, to stay in the homes of their members, and to join them for a musical theatre production and a lot of parties. The following Summer (2001) Philbeach were hosts to the Americans here in London.
VLOG is a community theatre group much like Philbeach. The idea of BALOE is that, one summer, all us English folk take their holidays sumultaneously, for two weeks, charter a flight to New York, stay in VLOG's apartments, get shown around New York as honoured guests, do a fully staged show with VLOG involving three public performances with full orchestra, and have lots of parties. The next summer VLOGers come to London, and the Londoners return the hospitality
