The Prince George Kennel Club is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1996. We are a small club consisting of members who love their dogs and are primarily interested in conformation showing and obedience work.Some of our members are also interested in other activities such as tracking, rally obedience, draft dog work (carting), water rescue tests, and herding. The PG Kennel Club hosted its FIRST official conformation show in July 21, 22, 23, 2006 and is holding annual shows around the same weekend every year. Thanks to all of the exhibitors, and we hope to see you again next year! Show dates for 2009 are July 17, 18, 19 with Junior Handling is on FRIDAY, July 17th this year.
We also held our 3rd set of obedience trials on September 28, 2008 and may hold our 4th trial near the end of September or early October 2009 in conjunction with a CARO rally obedience trial.
The PG Kennel Club has put on numerous events over the years such as CKC sanctioned matches, fun matches, a canine eye clinic, obedience and handling classes, canine carting classes and poker walks as well as information seminars during club meetings. Our most recent CKC sanction match was held October 2005 and our last fun match was in April 2008 at Pawsitive Steps. We try to have a fu match in March or April (when most of the snow is gone!). The Canine Eye clinic is usually held in the late summer or early fall.
