SAVE THE DOG

THIS, OUR BEBUNGEN JOURNEY

...spirals us to the backs of stinking marketplaces like Chilsung. We hear one lone dog begin to cry. Then another, and another. And as their dirge chorus begins for the millionth time, like a contorted-sounding waltz, they join in wails of agony as they are dragged to their torture and death. Beaten for over an hour to 'tenderize', S. Korean men justify this barbaric behavior claiming to attain a more potent erection.

It is clear then, why we must ALL commit to helping the millions of dogs, cats, and wildlife in South Korea, and other Asian countries, who are gratuitously tortured and consumeed each year for beastly human gratification and consumption. Their cries have reached us.

History demands we include them in the animals eternal Treblinca. Accurate accounts are necessary, to hopefully be able to explain the sequence of events which led up to these hysterical domestic animal scourgings in Asian countries. Like any regional holocaust directed toward particular sentient species, we should not sweep this little documented subject under the carpet because we are afraid to offend. Offend who? A group of torturers? With constant human unrest forever overshadowing this obscene horror, the global animal rights movement now provides an avenue for us to share in the suffering of South Korean dogs and cats. We rarely see or hear about what is happening in this heartless country. With this situation out of control, one can only imagine the scourgings and beatings meted out daily to Man's Best Friend. I urge everyone of you to take just one moment to think about this perverse situation. You will begin to see familiar faces coming into focus; Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Garfield, Scooby Doo, Ol' Yeller, and Morris. If you look one moment closer, you will see YOUR dog and cat crammed inside a wire cage, along with all the other animal torture victims. These captive domestics in S. Korea could have names and faces, if we let them. Please, I beg you for their sake, allow yourself to take a closer look.

Together we can face this hideous evil and put this nightmare behind us. We can secure freedom and deliverance for the domestic animals in the 'Hermit Kingdom' if we all BOYCOTT KOREAN CARS.

We can write polite letters for the rest of our lives to President Kim Dae Jung at the Blue House. If we do this on a consistent basis, asking him to strengthen and enforce The Korean Animal Protection Act (KAPA), we can accomplish this. Won't you write a letter to S. Korea today...to release Man's Best Friend to romp and play?

Writing poetry quells an overwhelming dread, when heightened feelings of hopelessness rush in, as countries justify their own brands of specific, obscene cruelties inflicted on animals. We are programmed early on to mind our own business within our shores. We are fed necessary lies to reach the human Plain of Adiaphorism. We eventually succumb to human societal aberrations, being careful not to offend the dominant human torturer.

Walk with me now "Under the Bridge". United we are strong and can confront their terror with them. "Chollima's Arirang" was written in their honor, and in their shame.

THINGS TO DO FOR SCOOBY-DOO

  1. Promote education of prevalent dog and cat torture in South Korea and other Asian countries through graphic materials
  2. Arouse positive reaction so concerned individuals DO NOT REMAIN INDIFFERENT to domestic animal torture victims (DATV)
  3. Bring DATV's to forefront of mind and conscience of concerned individuals to produce effective and sustained boycott
  4. Become an increasingly prominent voice for DATV's
  5. Dispel cultural lies, misconceptions and misinformation

MORE THINGS TO DO FOR LASSIE

    • Keep concerned individuals abreast of South Korean trade and economic trends so effective decisions are made about boycott
    • Expose new and smaller South Korean companies and products to boycott as they become available
    • Contact influential South Koreans and other officials in governments and industries by phone and letter
    • Appeal to President Kim Dae Jung, Blue House, 1 Saejong-Ro, Chongro-Ku Seoul, South Korea 110-760. Write to President Kim often because he can make a big difference. Beg him to strengthen and enforce the Korean Animal Protection Act (KAPA) to severely prosecute offenders.
THE MILLIONTH EXECUTION.
Gentle spirit, let me lay
cheek on furry breast
Let my tear wet tender paw
Before your skin they wrest

Let me ease your suffering
the moment that you go
to be hung, to be scourged
Korean song of woe.

Gentle spirit, rock with me
through our silent night
let us sneak together off
Escape the bully's bite.

Your pain is mine, I lay my cheek
upon your battered breast
bone of dog, whisk' of cat
In you I passed love's test.
