Learn to Ski the Easy Way with the Short Ski Method

Ménage ŕ Trois

The short ski method revolutionized learning to ski in the 60's and 70's. Now the new, short, carving skis make learning to ski easier than ever.

The short ski method works for everyone no matter how frightened or unfit. Even the most unathletic can ski a small slalom course with parallel turns on the first day. If you can walk downstairs without holding on, you can learn to ski. Talented athletes learn faster too. It's magic!

What is the short ski method?

You start on skis only slightly longer than your boots (70 cm). The skis are so short, anyone can turn them crosswise to the slope, even the first hour on skis. This means you can stop where you want, when you want, first time, every time. This overcomes the biggest hindrance to learning to ski: fear of uncontrolled gliding. Each day you get longer skis until you ski on standard length skis.

A normal ski course is three weekends. We leave each weekend on Friday evening and return Sunday evening. Lodging is in a Tyrolean farmhouse; rustic but oh so cosy with its pub and restaurant on the ground floor.

Tuition is all day Saturday and all day Sunday.

You come home tired but happy:
Happy because you had fun.
Happy because you learned a sport in only 6 days that you can enjoy for a lifetime.

There's a Yahoo group for all current students or alumni of Ken Lawler's Parallel Ski course - Paraski. Paraski is an unmoderated discussion and news group which was set up by a couple of former students of "Parallel Ski".
