In search of wildflowers we toured the Baja coast and desert areas from San Felipe south to the fishing village of Calamajué and old Mission Calamajué. Some desert valleys were awash with color and others without rain for 10 years had the appearance of the Sahara. The weather mix for the week was rain, high winds and sunshine. Coyotes visited and serenaded us at night, dolphin pods cruised near our shore camps and birds familiar and new to us visited daily. We left only with the resolve to return soon and see the new crop of flowers soon to appear. |
