This is a tribute to our Rottweiler - Brutus.  We "inherited" him from friends when they moved to another town.  He was approximately 4 years old when we first bought him into our home. In the time we had him, we grew to love him more than we could've known. Sadly, we had to have him put to sleep on the 28th of October 2002.  He was 11 years old.  In recent months he had developed arthritis in one of his front legs.  We tried all we could to make him better, but we had to face the harsh reality that he was in pain.  We had to make the hard decision to have him put down.  We were both with him when he left us.  In the days since, we have shed a lot of tears.  It has hit us even harder than we could've imagined.  We know that time will ease the pain - but at the moment it seems almost unbearable.  We intend to get another dog to fill the void left by the passing of Brutus - but nothing will ever replace him.

Brutus, you came into our lives  now the time has come to part
