Freedom isn't Free.  Many died for yours.

Be Prepared to defend yours soon. must see sound on
This history is dedicated to the pioneers and veterans who struggled, worked, did without, starved, fought, and suffered, in order to create a better life for future generations.  If you are free and speak English thank us Vets. Many died in battles defending your freedom for liberty and justice for all.

must see (turn on sound first) 50 seconds Thanks

Our flag stands for Freedom with Liberty and Justice For All

Our government is based on our U.S. Constitution

which gives us Rights listed in the Bill of Rights

(the first 10 Ammendments) and other ammendments.

The following note is on current history

Remember the 3000 who died on 9/11 when we were attacked by Muslim Terrorists, and since then the over 5000 of our folks (see their names and fotos) who have been murdered by Muslim militants and the Journalists and Red Cross workers they beheaded, like Daniel Pearl, and the hundreds of children they have murdered. (See bibliography for stats and proof) -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain --

All pictures from this site are a available on compact disk in better quality for a small donation to either the Warren Historical Society or Friends of the Library.  Always print names of the people on the back of your photos.

Old humble historian Wesley Arnold's twenty volume Local History compilation of several thousand pages is partly available at the Warren and Center Line Public Libraries. He says he will
donate the rest as soon he can save the funds to make copies and get them bound.  He is  old in poor health and on social security so don't hold your breath.

If you would like to read about daily life over 100 years ago stop to the library and look at "Diary of an American Farmer in Michigan",  or  read his books on Warren and Center Line history available free at the local libraries.
Who's Who of Center Line and Warren History lists 4000 names from 1800 - 1875

Who's Who Book two has 8000 names of those who helped the betterment of our community since then.  We should recognize those local people who helped make our world better.  If you know of someone who did something positive to create a better community please contact    Daniel@macombhistory.us                  Get your ancestors listed.

The book Our Veterans lists over 1000 of our heros.

If you are interested in our pioneers or genealogy be aware that they are listed in History of Warren and History of Center Line and Old Wes photographed every visible older stone in both the Warren Union Cemetery and the St. Clement Pioneer Cemetery.  Those fotos are available on CD. And they are indexed.  See "Pioneer Cemeteries in Warren Township."  Wes Arnold humble historian also did research on the first pioneer cemetery which lies forgotten as part of a playground of an elementary school.
Also read in Wes's books about the local hero and pioneer family that Warren was really named after not who the city council decreed it was.  The above books and this complete website are available for donation of $10 to the Friends of the Library or Historical Society.

Knowing more about the ones who lived before us can help our young people find perspective,  meaning and wisdom.
