| Jacob Name: Jacob Christopher Underwood Nickname: Jake Age: 21 Birthday: April 25, 1980 Status: Taken... *snif snif snif* Jacob is the wildest band member. He is really talented and full of ambition. He is a rocker at heart and dances like no one does! He has brown hair and beautiful baby blue eyes. He is about 5’10” and has dreads. The band just wouldn’t be the same without his touch. Family and home: He was born and raised in San Diego (California) and like he always said and will always say: There’s no place like home! He graduated from Valhalla High School in El Cajon (a suburb of San Diego). One of 38 cousins, Jacob is the only one not to attend college. Instead, he convinced his parents, Mechele and Steve, to let him pursue his musical dream. He has a brother named Bryan (18) and a sister named Danielle (14). School and musical experience: He is a strong singer, songwriter, guitar player and brings a unique focus to the band. He is al-ways the one ready to perform and pushing the others to give their 200%. He can play guitar, clarinet, saxophone and bass. He used to belong to a garage band called Primary Focus. He started taking vocal lessons in 7th grade. He has the look, the talent, the charisma and the atti-tude, everything to go really far. He wrote the song “Take me Under” that we can find on O-Town’s CD. With Ashley, he wrote the song “Say Say” that we unfortunately can’t find on any CD: it is a Making the Band song that was only played during the show. It’s Hebrew and it means “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour”. - He paint his nails in silver, black or blue-green. - He fell off a boat during an episode but he asked it to be cut out! He also fell off a chair in front of the camera. - One time, he was playing Water Polo in front of an audience but his Speedo ripped and...HELLO! - He used to dye his hair different colors every month before trying out for O-Town. - His ex-girlfriend, Thania, made the cover of a Seventeen magazine when she was only 14. - He hates when people look at him while he eats. “It’s an invasion of his privacy”. - He hates photo shoots - He has a BIG ego - He is the most responsable and professionnal of the O-Boys - He is also the calmest - He didn't knew the lyrics of "Tearin' Up My Heart" when the judges asked him to sing it at the auditions. - He had five minutes to listen to it and learn it - He is Christian - He has a leather journal that he writes evrythign in, he had it when he got in the band - He likes everything about creation - He has a girlfriend named Janie - He admitted it during an UK interview and yelled : I just want to say, you know that I love you Janie! - The song "Take Me Under," which he co-wrote, was actually a poem for his girlfriend when he wasn't going out with her. - One of his cousin lives one block away from Justin Timberlake's mom in Memphis, Tennesse. - His room in their Orlando mansion has waves and a huge mural of an octupus painted on his walls and a blue light added under his bed to bring the ocean inside. - When he was his the high school band he played Trombone. - He didn't know the words to "tearing up my heart" at the audition so he had to go and lisiten to it for 20 minutes so he could learn the words. - Trevor thinks that he has changed the most since they became a band. - He called the other guys Losers on 't4' for not having girlfriends. - In a U.K TV interview "T4", he said that he didn't like the way he looked in 'Making the Band', but did cause the team wanted to see him clean cut. - He likes to walk around in his socks most of the time. - He put dreads in his hair because he didn't want to be known as the "Justin Timberlake" of the group. - He has a chipped tooth from getting hit in the face with a Snapple bottle in 8th grade. - He hates when people ask him about his dream girl or any celebrities he has a crush on! (we noticed...) *** Here is a text that Jacob wrote about himself in 1998, when he was 18, in a garage band called PRIMARY FOCUS. *** Jacob Underwood - San Diego, CA I am 18 years old and the youngest member of the team. I have lived in San Diego with my family my entire life. While growing up, much of my time and energies were devoted to participating in two local theater groups - CYT and CCT. As a student at Valhalla High School, I was a part of our Mixed Ensemble and the Varsity Water Polo Team. I graduated last year and was very grateful for the opportunity to try-out for a spot on the Primary Focus team. Having made it, I can already say that being involved with Primary Focus has been such a blessing. Not only am I getting the experience that will enhance my musical career, but I am making a difference in so many children’s lives. I just want to thank my grandparents, my mom, my brother, and sister for instilling in me the heart to make a difference. |
