The Ecclesiastical Death of Orthodoxy
Proclamation
We herewith announce with great sadness that the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese in the U.S. and their Patriarchate - the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in North and South America and our mother Church, the Russian Orthodox Church - Moscow Patriarchate knowingly and intentionally prayed with the deposed contrary to Canon 11 (Xi) of the 85 Apostolic Canons.
The ethnic Orthodox Churches and clergy appear to use the Canons selectively to favor themselves. In this case:
An informal complaint was sent and ignored so a letter was sent to the Ecumenical Patriarch May 15, 2009 with a formal complaint of violations of the Canons by the Antiochian clergy including Metropolitan Philip. Also we included a brief but detailed complaint of the acts in 1929 by the Greek Archbishop, Alexander, which was the cause of the Schism in American Orthodoxy and a complaint with a couple points about the Russian Church violating the canons was included also.
The Antiochian clergy have violated the canons publicly. The complaint is detailed on another page. [click on the cross]
Their actions have clearly violated the canons and none have repented. The Canons direct that people guilty of many of these acts that violate the canons shall be deposed. Being pubic acts it was clear to all orthodox that the violations occured and were ignored.
After being sent this complaint we have had no response as yet and no public action appears to have been taken. This complaint has been sent by documented U.S. Mail and by E-mail. They may attempt to ignore the complaint because they may claim this Church is not in communion [with them]". Their logic is defective here and our documentation was included with the complaint. The Church that issued the complaint is a canonically established Orthodox Church that was chartered in 1927 by the Russian Synod in North America (Metropolia) and has valid Holy Orders from both this Church (our Russian lines) and the Church of the East (Malabar). The complaint was based on the simple directive of the Sacred and Divine canons that are claimed by these ethnic clergy as the laws of their (Orthodox) Church. The individuals attack a canonically
established Church, claim we do not exist, defamed the first Archbishop as well as another bishop who reposed long ago, the Metropolitan and Synod of the Church today, knowingly use Church property (Service Marks) without permission, and continued to do so after being advised the said property is the legally owned property of the Church (i.e. copyight and service marks - intellectual property) they are attacking. The Church and clergy are being held up to ridicule by
these Schismatics on orthodoxwiki's website that referred to this Church as an independent Church claiming the corporate name and refer's to the our past clergy in an abusive manner and charging, by at least one priest, the first Archbishop, Aftimios Ofiesh of blessed memory, with canonical crimes that he was never formally charged with.
The Corporate President, and former Metropolitan, of The Holy Eastern Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church in North America handled the ecclesiastical aspects of the complaint.
This is in fact a valid historical complaint.
Decree
It is hereby decreed that by their actions contrary to the Sacred and Divine Canons (Pedalion) the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese and its Patriarchate, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch, knowingly and intentionally placed themselves outside and above the Sacred Canons and have made themselves schismatic and heretical groups as interpreted in the said Canons.
Decree
It is hereby decreed that by their actions contrary to the Sacred and Divine Canons (Pedalion) the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America by the claim of the late Archbishop, Alexander, when he claimed, with no canonical authority and documented on the Orthodox website "orthodoxwiki", that he was over all Orthodox in the New World (or North America), which is and was our canonical jurisdiction, that a Schism in American Orthodoxy occured and since that time the sister Orthodox jurisdictions have ignored, attacked, published false claims and acted in an unchristian manner towards the American Church, have taken our Church buildings, our members and our clergy contrary to the canons and without the required letters, all contrary to the Sacred canons they claim to follow and obey; knowingly and intentionally have placed themselves outside and above the Sacred Canons and made themselves a schismatic and heretical group as interpreted in the said Canons.
Decree
It is hereby decreed that by their actions contrary to the Sacred and Divine Canons (Pedalion) the Russian Orthodox Church - Moscow Patriarchate has violated numerous canons in their acts from the time the Synod abandoned this Church through their chartering of a second American Church in 1970, the OCA, and even today by their silence allowing others to attack this Church that they originally established, allowing the legal action against this Church to take the cathedral, itself an act contrary to the canons, and by placing a second bishop and Church within our canonical jurisdiction; knowingly and intentionally placed themselves outside and above the Sacred Canons and have made themselves a schismatic and heretical group as interpreted in the said Canons.
The actions of these jurisdictions
have violated the Sacred and Divine Canons, and such actions have supported the attack on this Church. The Canons are clear, "If anyone pray in company with one who has been deposed, he shall be deposed himself" (Canon 11 (Xi) of the 85 Apostolic Canons).
The Orthodox disregard the Sacred Canons which they use injudiciously and only selectively in their favor and therefore depose and-or excommunicate themselves by their own acts through the Canons.
