| April 29 2006 3rd Annual Earl Kurt Memorial Kitchener Today marked the last regular OSA tournament for this season and it was wound up with the 3rd Annual Earl Kurt tournament.There were 18 teams in all and the day was filled with plenty of competitive spirit. A huge thanks goes out to the Polish Legion sports officer Paul Baker for a great Shuffleboard season! Thank you to Patricia for all the great food she prepared for us . No one went hungry at all! We also can't forget Audrey and Geoff Denny who hosted several successful tournaments in Milton and always made sure everyone had a fun day! Thanks as well to Fonthill Legion for the tournaments they held this season. See everyone at Port Colborne Legion Branch 56 on June 02nd 06 for the OSA Provincial playdowns! April 22 2006 NRSL Tournament Fonthill Legion Fonthill Legion was host today to another successful tournament with 18 teams competing. It was a lengthy day but all in all things went well. Thanks to all the organizers for making it a great day. The winners of this event are as follows: 1st Place: Claude Crites and Denis Greenwood 2n Place: Brenda Brown and Rod Hoffman 3rd Place: Scott Burwell and Bill Kirkpatrick 4th Place: Diane and Herb Parker Photos not available April 08 2006 Tournament of Champions Polish Legion Kitchener The OSA Shuffleboard tournament season is coming to a close for 2006 and eleven teams played for the title in our annual Tournament of Champions. There will be one last tournament for this season on April 29th,the Ontario playdowns in June and then preparations for the Canadian Championships in October will get into full swing! The winners of the April 08 event were! 1st Place: Rico Beaulieu and Art Gysbers 2nd Place: Ralph Zehr and Speedy Zehr 3rd Place: Darlene Perusello and Roy Stuart 4th Place: Joyce Davidson and Nancy Jean Wagar No photos currently available. March 25 2006 Open Doubles Milton Another great day hosted by Audrey and Geoff Denny with 9 teams competing. Everyone enjoyed the day and played hard. The winners are! 1st Place: Dianne and Herb Parker 2nd Place: Darlene Perusello and Roy Stuart 3rd Place:Bob Pearce and Francis Baverstock 4th Place: Darlene Brown and Doug Barrett March 11 2006 Kitchener A/B Draw Tournament This A/B format was a first for the OSA and we had a fantastic turn out! There were 18 teams in total and everyone who played had a great day! The tournament created a more balanced playing field for both experienced and inexperienced players and the team spirit rang out all day long! There were 16 teams enetered for the annual NRSL Tournament. This event has been a favorite for many years and all the teams played hard and strong for their chance to win the trophy. Thanks to everyone at the Fonthill Legion for their great hospitality! And fun we had !!!! We celebarated Valentine's Day! We celebrated Birthdays! We had a cake walk! We had gifts for everyone And yes we even played Shuffleboard!!! The 7th Annual Ladies Only tournament was held at the Polish legion in Kitchener and there were twelve teams entered. What a great day was had by all. There were 15 teams who came out in her memory. Margie who was a long time OSA member lost her battle with cancer on July 24th 2005. She loved the game of shuffleboard and represented the OSA in several Canadian Championships.
