What is (RED)?
What was the INSPI(RED) night at the Aloha Stadium?
Not too long ago, Bono and Bobby Shriver, Chairman of DATA, launched a new initiative to help those people who are dying from a treatable disease like AIDS, just because they don't have the money to buy the medicine. This initiative, (RED), takes advantage of the enormous power that consumers in wealthy countries have. The idea is simple, if you buy a (RED) product a part of the money will go directly to the poorest people on this planet; to provide them with the medicine to keep them alive. Your choice can make a difference, and one by one we can make a tremendous change in this world. U2 inspires U2 have been an inspiration to us as well as to so many in the past few decades, both with their music and their involvement in many great causes. From LiveAid to Live8, from Jubilee 2000 to DATA and the ONE campaign, not to forget Amnesty International and Greenpeace, U2 has always INSPI(RED) us in following the journey of equality. As Bono said at Live8 in London: "We can't fix every problem, but the ones we can, we must..."

What happened on the INSPI(RED) night? The idea was
to wear (RED) clothing, or anything with red color, to support the (RED)
campaign (read the original
announcement page). A group of very dedicated people worked
hard to spread the word. Our initiative appeared in the Honolulu
Advertiser the week before the show. The
official
(BLOG)RED web site wrote in detail about our initiative, and
they were very pleased with it. The event was also mentioned in the
news at various U2 related web sites (for example: @U2.com,
Interference),
and people spread the word like a ripple in a pond. The main goal of
the event had already been accomplished before December 9.... Rocko, the lead singer of the support act Rocko
and the Devils was wearing an INSPI(RED) shirt during their
performance to support the cause. After that performance, Colette from
(RED) came all the way down to the field to thank us. She and the rest
of the (RED) crew, including the founders Bono and Bobby Shriver, were
amazed by the huge number of people wearing (RED). Pictures, audio and video
