This website is primarily about the film roles of Viggo Mortensen. He has appeared in at least 32 films, several of them foreign films (he speaks three languages). He is also an artist, photographer, musician and poet.
A mark of a great actor (to this writer) is to be an ensemble player, who plays the role as it relates to the film as a whole. Viggo is that ensemble actor and a chameleon, who seems to inhabit his role entirely and can be unrecognizable from film to film character wise (and sometimes physically). Viggo seems to be more of an "actors' actor" and less a "star", (where a film is nearly always a vehicle for the big name actors image and personality).
All of his films to date are reviewed here, in some detail, plus many photos and film stills can be found on this site. This is a New Zealand based site, but most reviews are written by American correspondent Colleen Wallace.
