How much will my first RC Airplane cost? This depends on what kind of airplane, engine and radio gear that you buy plus many other considerations. The following is an approximate breakdown of typical prices that you can expect to pay for a new RC Airplane:

TYPICAL PRICES
ARTF Plane Body (Wing Span = 2.0m) £75.00
Engine (2 Stroke) £50.00
Servos (x3) £45.00
Radio Gear £170.00
  £340.00

The above would be the average price you can expect to pay to get airborne.
I mentioned that there are many other considerations. Below is a list of other extras that some say are essentials to aid in your hobby.

ADDED ESSENTIALS
A Glow Plug £20.00
Engine Starter £40.00
Battery & Charger £25.00
Hand Fuel Pump £20.00
Flight Box £35.00
  £140.00

If you dont have enough money for a new plane or if the thought of crashing a new £500 plane makes you cringe, you might consider a good 'Used' one.

If you decide that you want a used plane, it would be advisable to get it checked thoroughly by an experienced modeler. Check for obvious damage as well as hidden damage, loose clevises, covering, anything that may cause a problem. Then before you buy it,SEE it FLY. After all you wouldn't buy a car without driving it first. Would you? An experienced modeler will be able to help you and explain these considerations in detail.

Do I need to belong to a club and how much will it cost? You don't have to but it would be strongly advisable. At the club there is a wealth of expertise hich you will find invaluable with the building your airplane and the flying of it.

On joining the N.W.M.A.C. you will automatically be enrolled with the B.M.F.A. Being a member of the B.M.F.A. ensures that your airplane is insured against the unthinkable.
Every month, members receive a copy of the 'B.M.F.A.News' whic is both an interesting and informative read. In addition to this, the N.W.M.A.C. has just begun to publish their own news-letter, which is full of items of local interest. It is called 'The Foyle Model Flyer'.

The annual membership of the club is outlined below:
