WHO ARE WE ?

Whether you're new to the world of radio control aircraft or an old hand(should that be "wing"?), I hope that everyone will find something of interest on my web site. You will find lots of advice on the many aspects of starting out in aeromodelling.

The North West Model Aircraft Club (N.W.M.A.C.) formed many moons ago and has been based at the disused "Derry City Council" dump at New Buildings, approximately 8km's from Derry on the A5 ("Derry to Dublin" road).

The club's airfield occupys a 2 acre site and has one of the very few tarmac runways in Ireland which measures some 60m.
Facilities include:
Pit Lanes
Car Parking
Club House
N.W.M.A.C. are affiliated to and and are active participants in the British Model Flying Association (B.M.F.A.), the national body governing our hobby. The clubs aim is to promote Radio Control Aeromodeling as an enjoyable and safe hobby for all.

The club will always attempt to ensure that all newcomers to the sport are properly trained in the flying of models in accordance with the national bodies' scheme, i.e."Up and Away" B.M.F.A. leading to SILVER and GOLD achievement standards.

Club members enjoy virtually unlimited access to our superb flying site throughout the year and are issued with a key allowing access to the flying site. We fly all year round, mainly weekends in winter and most days and evenings in the summer.
