Internet in Japanese

Since you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer (Internet) and Microsoft Outlook Express (e-mail), only thing you need to do is download a Japanese package from Microsoft webpage free of charge.

I tried to explain as easy as possible below. Pleas print this and follow.

[*] Download the Global (Japanese) Input Method Editor (IME).

Goto the site below. (you can click below)

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/features/ime.asp

## In this MS Global IME Homepage, click the blue letters of "Install Global IME 5.02 here" in the first sentence of the paragraph for "Users without Office XP".
## In Option, choose "MS Global IME for Japanese - with Language Pack" and choose Language "English".
## Follow the instrution.

Once it is installed, a small icon "En" should appear at the lower right corner of your monitor. Then, you should be able to view Japanese webpages using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Try the following page for test.

(If it appears in Moji-Bake, goto View -> Fonts -> Japanese (Auto select))

Also, you should be able to read Japanese e-mail using MS Outlook Express.

Open MS Outlook Express

## Initial Setting of MS Outlook Express for Japanese
"TooL"-->"Option"-->"Send"
"Mail Sending Format"-->(*) Plain Text-->"Settings"-->(*) MIME
-->"Encode Text Using [None]-->OK
Click off ( ) Reply to message using the format in which they were sent
-->OK

Go to "Compose New Message"

## Confirmation of Japanese for Sending E-mail
Goto "Format" in the menu at the top:
Go to -> "Language" -> "Japanese JIS".
Go to -> "Plain Text" (Not Rich Text (HTML)".

You are ready to write Japanese e-mail.

Click small "En" icon at the lower right corner of the screen.
Click "Japanese".
Choose "Zenkaku Hiragana".

Type as you speak in ro-maji. They will appear in Hiragana with underline.

## If you like to convert words to Kanji or katakana, press spacebar.
## If it is OK as hiragana, press the return key.

Bring the cursor in the space for writing e-mail text.

Click "Japanese".
