We started playing friendly netball about 5 years ago (1996) as a group of volunteers, on a kibbutz, who really missed the game. Since we did not have enough players, in 1999 we published an ad in the local newspapers for anyone interested in playing netball, to PLEASE contact us. That is when it came to our attention that other teams had aslo started playing.
Since then we have been playing matches agianst other teams in the country, we have a Senior and Junior team and we do pretty well for a team without a coach. (Have not lost a game yet!!)
3 Seniors and 4 Juniors from Kfar Menachem were selected for the Maccabi 2001 Netball tournament. The Seniors won Gold, Juniors Silver and Dominique (form Kfar Menachem was voted "most outstanding player" of the tournament. it was exhilerating to get back into the swing of NETBALL.
Anyway, we start playing again at the beginning of October and an international tour is being organised for the Maccabi team, so maybe some us will be playing against you in the near future,
The Kfar Menachem Netball Club was founded by Niki Mor, Lucy Shalev and Alison Borsetti.
