Wow...this site is still around? Believe it or not, this is the first time I have ventured to NESFAQS since I shut it down nearly three years ago. Luckily, most of the site remains intact, save for some of the older collision pics. Looking back, I'm actually pretty embarassed by this site's layout. I mean, It's colorful and all, but damn - why the hell is everything so huge?

I have no intention to reopening NESFAQs anytime soon. Not only haven't I talked to any of the other contributors in years, but I wouldn't even know where to start. However, lately I've been preoccupied with another project: The Realm of Gigs. It's a site I started shortly before the demise of NESFAQs which focuses on music, movies, and of course, video games.

I still play my NES, even moreso than my PS2 or GameCube. With the next generation of gaming upon us, its still hard to believe how many NES games have stood the test of time. Even though I may not have the desire to reopen this site, I'm still as big of an NES fan as I was when I first created it.

The NES will always live on...

Thursday - 3/6/03

Fellow NES fans, I'm afraid I have some bad news. This will be the last update of NESFAQs. Unless I get a sudden burst of motivation, I do not plan to update this site anymore. Now, because I had a huge backlog of reviews and tips/tricks, I decided to put them all in these two text files: Final Reviews, and Final Tips and Tricks. I also update the Hall of Fame. I think it's safe to say that LordBob is indeed the NES Master according to the Hall of Fame.

While it's been a fun ride, I'm afraid I can't go on any further. I'd actually like to start working on my other site, which consists of a variety of topics including video games, movies, music, and more. I thank you all: LordBob, Exhumer, BPZ, Deathspork, lynx561, Kirbybuddy, DJosef, RetroFreak, and all the others who made this site possible. Just remember: feel free to e-mail me if wanna talk NES, because there's always time for that! :)

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANY MORE REVIEWS, TIPS/TRICKS, HIGH SCORES, ETC. THEY WILL NOT BE ADDED TO THE SITE!!!

Thursday - 10/3/02

Two things today: (1) a Hall of Fame update, as usual, and (2) I added a new link. Not much, huh? Well here's the story: I'm being packed with an unbearlable amount of things to do this year (school, work, college stuff, etc.), and finding time to update the site is often a hassle. A year or two ago, I had much more time to do what I wanted to. However, nowdays life is basically telling me what to do. So, I apologize for my HUGE lack of updates, but hopefully you can bear with me for the time being.

Friday - 8/2/02

Okay, I know a lot of you have been asking for an update (and I don't blame you), so here it is: First of all, I added an overwhelming amount of submissions to the Hall of Fame. Next, I added two FAQs, one for World Games, the other for Base Wars (both submitted by BPZ). Then, I updated LordBob's list of NES games as well as changed the link to my personal profile page. Lastly, I added a link to The Temple of the NES.

As for future updates: there are a ton of tips and tricks to put up, so expect those in the next few updates.

Wednesday - 4/24/02

A few months ago, Deathspork (former webmaster of NES Retreat) gave me permission to use his FAQs on the site. So, his FAQs have been added for the following games: Desert Commander, North and South, Street Fighter 2010, and Sweet Home. And, as always, the Hall of Fame has been updated with tons of submissions.

Well, just in case anybody wanted to know, last Tuesday was the one-year anniversery of NESFAQs. Yes, it's hard to believe that I've been working on this site for over a year (heck, I didn't even think I'd make it this far, lol). Months ago I had visions of how big the one-year anniversery would be, but to tell you the truth, I've lost A LOT of motivation since then. However, I will still update as much as I can, even if it's only updating only once a month. Actually, maybe I'll even throw in a little surprise this summer, when I get more free time to work on the site. :)

Monday - 4/8/02

Greetings fellow NES fans. It is I: Dan the Gig. Yes, it has been a while, but I am not gone...yet. In fact, there is actually an UPDATE today (don't fall over yet). First of all, I added a review for Kung Fu, which was written by LordBob. Next, I added tips and tricks for Deadly Towers, Knight Rider, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (LordBob strikes again :D). And finally, I added a bunch of Hall of Fame submissions...to the Hall of Fame (makes sense). Now, let me fill in for all the holidays I missed: Happy Valentine's Day, Happy St. Patrick's Day, Happy Easter, and uh...Happy April Fool's Day. :)

Tuesday - 2/5/02

Today is basically a catch-up day. I added two submissions - one for Game That Tune and the other for the Hall of Fame. Next, I updated LordBob's profile with all new info. And lastly, I added a link.

Monday - 1/21/02

Since it's Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I had today off from school. Thus, I decided to write a...thing (if you will) entitled The Many Forms of NES. Basically, it's an article that describes the pros and the cons of the different ways of playing NES games. I really didn't have a category to put it in, but I might add a category called "other stuff" and put it in there along with The Wizard review.
