Popeye, Career Counselor

PREVIOUS - HOME2 - NEXT

Published 1973 by King Features, written by Joe Gill and drawn by George Wildman. There were a whole lot of copies of the three different titles of this comic when I found them, all unread, discarded by the Career Education Center at Grant High School. It's not the content which is the problem here, but the concept. Why on earth anyone would want to take career advice from a mumbling brawling cartoon sailor is a true mystery. And nobody did. These are fat 32 page comics, full of a sincere attempt to convey information about all sorts of career opportunities. But... it's just CRAZY that they would even do this.
