Young Stock Show 2008
The North of England Gloster Club will be holding a young stock show in conjunction with the September meeting.
The 33rd Open Show of The North of England Gloster Club will take place on Sunday 9th November 2008 at the
Community Centre, The Square, Guide Post, Choppington. Near Bedlington, Northumberland.
Open Show 2007
The North of England Gloster Club Open Show attracted more than 400 exhibits from Northern Ireland, Scotland,
East Anglia and the Midlands as well as many quality local exhibits.
Judges were: Mervyn McLaughlin and Robin Dixon from Northern Ireland, and had many previous Best in Show
Winners before them and it was no surprise that Best in Show went to Barrie Alexander's IGBA Winner an unflighted
TPD Corona Hen. A wonderful Gloster with type and Quality to match.
The same exhibitor took the second best corona with an unflighted buff corona hen. To round off an excellent show
Barrie annexed the best yellow award with an unflighted corona hen.
Best consort and best opposite head awards went to R & I Wright's well received unflighted TPD consort hen.
The Partnership also took the best cinnamon and third best corona with flighted corona hen, best flighted and third
best consort with another TPD consort hen.
Second best consort, and shown to perfection, was David Rand's unflighted buff consort cock.This cock pushed
the best consort all the way and was a well received winner, The same exhibitor took the best Grizzle with an
unflighted cock. Adjudged to be the best Grizzle seen at this show for many years.
Best white unflighted hen was exhibited by Middlemiss and Thompson.
Novice Section Winners
In a good and competitive novice section Philip Jackman led the way with an unflighted T.P.D. consort hen, best novice
yellow with an unflighted consort hen and 3rd best corona with an unflighted T.P.D. hen.
Ted Ellis took best novice corona, best novice opposite head with a flighted buff corona hen, and second best novice
consort with an unflighted buff consort hen.
Chris Bilton annexed the best novice white award and second best novice corona. The same exhibitor took the 3rd
best novice consort with a flighted buff consort cock.
Best novice cinnamon was awarded to Stephen Neil's consort cock.
No novice Grizzles were benched at show.
