Since there can be many distinct rogue play styles and builds there is a lot of gear to choose from. The 3 most common builds in my experience are the Backstab Assassination/Subtlety builds using slow daggers, the Sinister Strike and Instance Combat builds using slow swords, and the subtlety rogue. Each build will have different gear pieces and at the end of this list is a sample guide for 2 of the possible paths.
Please note: This list is by no means a "rogue’s have exclusive rights to this" equip list. Please be considerate of your group members and respect loot rules. Most of the higher-end items are useful to multiple classes and there may be items listed here that, although useful on a rogue, are possibly more effective or as effective in another classes hands.
