This map shows Edgecombe County as it was first created in 1741 from
its parent, Bertie County.
Note there were no western boundaries.

This map shows Edgecombe County in 1746 after the western side
was closed off and Granville County was formed.

This map shows Edgecombe County in 1758 after part of the northern section was taken to form Halifax County.

This map shows Edgecombe County in 1777 after it was split again and the western part became Nash County.

This map shows Edgecombe County in 1855 after more territory was taken to form part of the new Wilson County. This is the shape of Edgecombe County today.
