Well the first thing I did was disconnected the negative batter cable, which uses a 10mm wrench, so the ECU would reset by the time i was finished installing my intake. First you want to do is to remove the stock intake. For a short ram intake you don't need to remove the intake resonator, but I recommend it. For a cold air intake you do need to remove it. The resonator is that black box that sits right under the intake box with the filter in it. What I did was turned my wheel all the way to the right and then pull away the fender lining. I also know of people taking off the whole front bumper, but I think my way is easier. There are 2 bolts holding it in place. The first one you can see obviously, but the 2nd one is hidding a little bit. If you just run your hand around you should be able to find it. Once you have the bolts out it should just drop down. Since my car is lowered I had to jack it up a little to get it out from under my car. Now to remove the box with the filter there are 4 screws holding the top portion of it. Once removed you will be able to see the filter. Next thing i did was removed the top portion of the filter box from the intake pipe which you can just pull right off. To remove the lower part of the box there are 2 bolts holding it down, remove them. Once the filter box is out it's time to remove the intake pipe. There are two hoses that are connected to the intake pipe that I unplugged. Then loosen the metal ring that connects the intake pipe to the intake manifold. You will see a mini intake looking thing you can leave there but I removed it for a more clean look in the engine bay. There is one bolt holding it down which in the pic is pointed by a green arrow and 2 arrows point to where u just have to pull off from the little medal rod things and unplug the hose that runs to it. Then you can completly remove the intake pipe. For the hose I capped it off where it gets to the firewall.
Now I connected the 2 hoses. Some people just use breathers but I decided to connect the hoses since they're there for a reason. Your intake should come with a hose that will connect from the intake to the head. The next hose was the stock one from the old intake and you can see where I connected both the hoses by the arrows.
Now it is time to connect the filter cone. All you have to do is slide the rubber gasket on the intake pipe and snug down the metal ring. Then slide the filter on and snug that ring down. As for keeping the intake in place mine came with this metal bracket thing with some holes in as some "brand name" intakes have a braket welded on the intake which then can be bolted to the car. What I did since I didn't have a bracket welded on my intake is where there is a little lip on the bracket I slide it under the metal ring that connects the filter to the pipe and snugged it down. Then I bolted the other side to where there was a hole where there was a bolt holding down the stock intake box. In order to keep the intake from vibrating on the car I had to bend the bracket a couple times untill it was just right. You can also try some of your own experimenting. I really don't know how you were suppose to connect the bracket to the intake but my method seemed to work. Check everything one last time and make sure all the connections are tight and connected your negitive battery cable back.
