National CCW Reciprocity Foundation
Working to enact a Federal CCW Reciprocity law by informing the public. While also keeping up with other Federal firearm legislation.
A CCW is a concealed firearm license issued to any law-abiding citizen in 33 states for his own self-defense.
Current Reciprocity Status
H.R.950 & S.514, the concealed carry reciprocity bills are sponsored by Congressman John Hostettler & Senator Bob Smith. These bills would allow a CCW holder with a "home state" permit to carry in all 50 states. As long as you had a permit from the state you live in, this bill would force other states to give you full reciprocity rights. In effect, these House & Senate bills basically set a good foundation for reciprocity. We will work to amend these bills to allow anyone with a CCW to carry in all 50 states. Now with 40 & 3 co-sponsors (7/17/02).
H.R.382 was introduced by Congressman Cliff Sterns this bill allows police officers to carry firearms in all 50 states. H.R.382 would grant CCW holders reciprocity rights throughout America, making this must pass legislation. This is our best chance for Federal reciprocity Now with 24 co-sponsors (7/17/02).
