I would encourage anyone interested in acquiring a pet to do some research and responsibly determine if introducing a pet into your household is the right thing to do.
The Pointer is an active, hard driving hunting dog that requires certain needs to be met in order to be happy, productive and loving companions. I would strongly encourage anyone interested in the breed to do field training and encourage their natural pointing and hunting abilities. This took many, many years of dedicated breeding by breeders of old and would be a shame to lose in the breed known as 'The Pointer'.
Only having been involved in the breed for a few years, I am actively and wholeheartedly learning about this wonderful breed of dog. They have a lot to offer to the right person/family and have a bright future to look forward to due to today's dedicated breeders. These breeders have come a long way in preserving and improving the Pointer dog.
